Our department has organized a State level Seminar on “Women Empowerment in Indian Scenario”
on 26th February 2015. Dr. M.
Chitra, Faculty Member, School of Economics, Madurai Kamaraj University,
Madurai, Chaired the First session and delivered a lecture on Changing Status of Women Employment in India.
The second session was chaired by Dr.
S. Kayarkanni, Associate Professor of Economics, Sri Parasakthi College for
Women, Courtalam. She delivered a lecture on Status
of Women Empowerment in Indian Economy.
Economics
Association meeting was held on 30th March 2015. Mr. S. Vaithilingam, Retired Senior
Manager of Indian Overseas Bank, Town Branch, was the chief guest and he gave a
lecture on Bank Employment Opportunities for Arts Students.

Tirunelveli has delivered a speech on “How to face the competitive exams?” in
the Planning forum meeting held on 31st March 2015.
